FreeD Free Dimensional Video
Replay Technologies developed a revolutionary three-dimensional visual data format that changes the way we interact with video. Recently purchased by Intel, the “free dimensional” or freeD™ video format allows viewers to experience never-before-seen perspectives of live sporting events. From years of capturing data on the field and on the court, freeD™ breaks the mold of limitations to showcase athletes in a unique and breakthrough way as if they were wearing cameras themselves.
The patented data algorithms are able to create 3D-pixels of the entire surface area to build the scene in real time. Through continuous optimization of hardware and software, the freeD™ video content creates a revolutionary viewing experience for everyone.
The Replay Technologies' freeD system gives us the option to broadcast Mavs games with more unique angles, which in-turn gives viewers never before seen insight into the game.Mark Cuban Dallas Mavericks
Aquion Energy manufactures proprietary Aqueous Hybrid Ion (AHI™) batteries and battery systems for stationary energy storage applications. AHI batteries are optimized for off-grid and microgrid systems, energy management, and grid-scale applications. Aquion’s high-performance, safe, sustainable and cost-effective batteries deliver industry-leading value for customers. Aquion’s battery systems provide flexible, modular energy storage that optimizes existing generation assets and enables broad adoption of renewable energy technologies such as wind and solar.
Aquion was searching for a new lender to refinance its existing debt structure as well as provide additional working capital to complement the company’s equity investment and grants of over $100 million. Aquion had previously closed a $55 million Series D round of equity funding to continue the commercialization of its proprietary Aqueous Hybrid Ion (AHI™) battery technology and was seeking a total of $20 million.
Trinity Capital Investment approached CapX Partners about the opportunity to syndicate the transaction. CapX, an alternative debt provider focusing on loans, leases and mezzanine capital, partnered together with Trinity to deliver a $20 million credit facility that includes an interest only period to assist Aquion with its cash flow and continued commercialization of its energy solutions while providing the flexibility for additional debt capital in the future.
We value the new partnership with Trinity and CapX and appreciate their confidence in Aquion’s team and innovative technology. The Trinity and CapX team carefully considered our financing needs and structured a solution that met our requirements. The new credit facility along with the Series D financing round provides the growth capital to continue building and scaling the company.John Connolly Chief Financial Officer, Aquion Energy

Sensity Systems capitalizes on conversions to LED lighting—a process that will affect 4 billion lights worldwide over the next few years—to create a high-speed, sensor-based, multiservice, open networking platform known as a Light Sensory Network (LSN). LSNs help lighting owners improve lighting control and energy efficiency, as well as business processes that go well beyond lighting.
By embedding networking technology and sensors within LED luminaires themselves, Sensity uses energy-efficient LED lighting as the foundation for its turnkey NetSense platform, the first Light Sensory Network implementation. By working closely with developers of software applications and services that run on the NetSense platform, Sensity enables facility and municipal lighting owners to link energy efficiency and cost savings to the improvement of business goals as diverse as public safety, parking control, asset management, and retail analytics.
Sensity is the first company that has assembled all the relevant technology expertise, process integration know-how, and strong partnerships required to make the Light Sensory Network a reality.
As we prepare for light sensory network deployments worldwide, we selected Trinity to help enable us to meet our planned installations, achieve our milestones and drive strong revenue growth, while controlling expenses. The process of working with Trinity from start to finish was extremely well managed and I was impressed with the team. Trinity is at the forefront of the venture community with a variety of venture models that support the success of their portfolio companies.Phil Rehkemper CFO, Sensity
