Management

Steve Brown | President

Steve Brown, President and Founder of Trinity Capital Investment(TCI) and Managing General Partner of Trinity Capital Fund II. He brings 27 years of lending, investment and leasing experience to TCI. Prior to starting TCI, he was a General Partner with Point Financial Capital Partners, which managed a Venture Leasing Fund and he led both originations and lease financing efforts for all early stage lease finance at Point. Prior to Point he served as the President and CFO of InvestLinc Financial Services, which was an early-stage Private Equity Fund Manager and Business Consulting Firm. Prior to InvestLinc, he was a partner in Cornerstone Equity Partners, a private equity fund manager, and was co-founder/manager of Cornerstone Fund I, a private equity fund based in Phoenix, Arizona.

In addition, Steve has worked with private investment companies and banking institutions in both real estate and commercial lending and investment roles. He has served on the board of directors of numerous operating companies and also served on the advisory counsel for the School of Business at Grand Canyon University, located in Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Brown holds a B.S. degree from McNeese State University in Business Administration and Marketing.


Hal Hayden | General Partner

J. Howard (Hal) Hayden III is a General Partner for the Trinity Capital Fund II and founding partner and CEO of Agility Solutions and Agility Ventures. Mr. Hayden brings 33 years of lending and leasing experience. From 1980 until 1985 he was a Regional Account Manager for IBM’s General Systems Division. He subsequently founded Priority Leasing Corporation, a small-ticket specialty leasing company, where he served as the company’s President until its sale to private investors in 1995. In 1996 Mr. Hayden founded Heritage Software Finance, a division of Heritage Leasing, and developed one of the first leasing programs for enterprise software licenses. Upon the acquisition of the company by First Sierra Financial in 1997 he became the Vice President of its Software Finance Division. Mr. Hayden has served on the board of the United Association of Equipment Leasing and provided consulting to other companies in the technology finance industry. Mr. Hayden received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arizona in 1979 and obtained a Certified Lease Professional designation in 1992.


Jason Hamlin | Controller

Jason Hamlin has 13+ years of experience in investment management, back office support and accounting for investment funds. Prior to joining Trinity he spent two years with Cavan Commercial as Vice President of Capital Markets and nine years as the Senior Vice President of Finance for Majestic Capital, the management company to a hedge fund. While at Majestic Capital he was responsible for running investor relations, accounting and tax coordination for multiple corporate entities. Mr. Hamlin holds an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management with an emphasis in international capital markets and a Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University.

 

 


Alex Erhart | Technological Advisor

Alex Erhart has 25 years of high-tech business experience and is currently the Executive Vice President of Engineering and Operations at Sand9, a Mems timing manufacturer. He served as startup-CEO of Validity from 2003 through 2006. Mr. Erhart's experience includes his position as General Manager, Biometrics Division of National Semiconductor Corporation, and founder and Chief Executive Officer of Vivid Semiconductor, Inc., a venture backed LCD panel technology start-up that was purchased by National Semiconductor. Mr. Erhart holds over 40 patents, has authored ten technical publications, and has presented technical papers at several major semiconductor industry conferences. Mr. Erhart has also served on the Board of three private technology companies and one charitable organization.
